He is currently working as Professor at the Centre for Management Development, with more than 26 years of experience in Faculty positions in Centre for Management Development since 1997. He has coordinated and conducted more than 30 social science research projects and various management development programmes for officials at various cadres. He has been leading the National Level Institutional Monitoring project of the Ministry of Rural Development for the last twelve years. and conducted social impact assessments of various development projects. Currently he is engaged in the preparation of SDG Vision 2030 Document and the conduct of Customer Satisfaction Survey of the Medisep Scheme for the State of Kerala.

He is currently working as Professor at the Centre for Management Development, with more than twenty five years of experience in Faculty positions in Centre for Management Development since 1998. Apart from that he has more than three years of industry experience also. He has been undertaken around 100 projects including research studies, Business Advisory Services including Work Study and organisation Study and Project Management Services for various Central and State Public Sector Enterprises and various government departments/ institutions. He has headed the preparation of the annual “A Review of Public Enterprises in Kerala” for Government of Kerala, a classified budget document of the State. He has also coordinated various management development programmes and training programmes for officials at various cadres and been part of recruitment and man power support programmes of various PSUs/ Governmental Agencies/organisations for around 150 categories of posts. He is also a Life Fellow of Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering.

He has over twenty-four years of experience in providing consulting services in the areas of Project/Programme Management, Procurement, Contract Management, Programme Monitoring, Evaluation and Impact Assessment, Social Research & Analysis, Social Impact Assessment, Strategic Human Resource Management (including Manpower Planning, organizing large scale Recruitment, and Organisational Development), Corporate/Business Restructuring Initiatives, Capacity Building Programmes, etc. He has coordinated/involved in more than 300 consulting/research/training assignments. The strategy was conceived and successfully established by him for the project of Manpower Support Service to various organizations which was commenced in 2015. With the astounding quality of the service, the addition of organizations is still continuing which stands out to be eighteen employing around 600 employees across the State. Later in 2017, with his initiative CMD marked its presence in the preparation of Detailed Project Report for Solid and Liquid Waste Management Sector across the State. Our team for undertaking Social Impact Assessment Study is highly indebted to him for his initiation during 2018 and guidance in its early stage. Apart from these his completed projects include International conference on Gender Equality (ICGE I – 2015 and ICGE II – 2020), Procurement and Contract Management Support to World Bank assisted Kerala Solid Waste Management Project, Development of Master Plan for Learning Village – Pinarayi, Engineering & Project Management Consultancy service for Development of Mini – Industrial Park at Kollam and Large Scale Recruitment for MILMA, National Health Mission, Kerala State Disaster Management Authority etc.

He has over 24 years of experience in the CMD. He possesses a unique set of skills for managing complex projects with cultural sensitivity and awareness. He is a seasoned development practitioner, specializing in livelihood generation programmes, entrepreneurship development/skill upgradation programmes, project development and management for the social sector. He has associated with numerous national-level entities for research studies and has collaborated with various stakeholders, such as government agencies and community leaders, to design and implement sustainable livelihood initiatives. As he works extensively at grassroots level, he specializes in community networking.

Tribal development is his paramount forte and his leadership in this sector since 2017 is noteworthy, having designed and implemented flagship projects such as Sustainable Livelihood Generation Programme for Scheduled Tribe Community (Gothrajeevika), Sustainable agricultural intervention among Scheduled Tribes (Haritharashmi), and Empowerment Of Traditional Occupations Among Tribal Communities in Kerala (Sahyakiran) under the sponsorship of Ministry of Tribal Affairs and Scheduled Tribes Development Department of Kerala.

He has a deep-rooted proficiency in designing and developing projects that nurture and foster Rural Enterprise Development. With a nuanced understanding of the socio-cultural fabric and a heightened sensitivity to diverse perspectives, he has showcased his ability to manage intricate projects in this arena. He took the helm as the lead investigator, spearheading the crucial task of physical verification over 6,000 micro enterprises under Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) over a period of three years in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep. He has associated in the process of design, development and implementation of micro enterprise development programs across all districts.

He is also involved in the execution projects that cater to the needs of returned emigrants by providing Project Management Support for NDPREM – A Rehabilitation Programme for Overseas Returnees. This encompassed critical aspects like awareness generation, business advisory services, financial linkage, and comprehensive orientation. He is the project coordinator for Norka Institute of Foreign Language (NIFL) that acts as a migration launch pad for potential migrants. Furthermore, his influence spans the intricacies of developmental facets, emphasizing meticulous design and execution, and is not confined solely to economic considerations but extends to holistic social development. Collaborations with an array of stakeholders, ranging from governmental bodies to community leaders, underscore his commitment to devising and executing sustainable livelihood solutions. Moreover, he effectively manages a team of field officers under multiple projects across Kerala.

Throughout his career, he has been designing and delivering training programs, empowering hundreds of individuals and rural communities with practical skill development training. This has equipped them with the knowledge and abilities needed to start and grow their own microenterprises.

K. Varghese, Associate Professor in C.M.D., has over 25 years of experience in the Centre. He has extensive experience in financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and cost control. He has been coordinating the preparation of ‘A Review of Public Enterprises in Kerala’, a classified Budget document of the Government of Kerala since 2015. He had a proven track record of assisting small and medium-sized businesses in formulating robust business plans, preparing bankable project reports, and identifying opportunities for growth and expansion. He has coordinated more than 400 Entrepreneurship Development Programmes/Skill Development Programmes for the rural poor of the State. He has also designed and coordinated various Management Training and Capacity Building Training programmes for various Government Departments and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) of the State. His in-depth understanding of recruitment and talent acquisition processes helps client organisations to identify a better workforce. He has conducted/been involved in more than 500 recruitment assignments for various Government Departments/Agencies and Public Sector Undertakings of the State.

A Post Graduate in Industrial Engineering and Post Graduate in Management, he specializes in Organisation Development through application of relevant management and industrial engineering techniques and tools. He has been involved in studies pertaining to organisation restructuring, preparation of business plans, business process reengineering, organizational revival plans, assessment of human resources requirement, development of HR policies, systems and practices, preparation of manuals, etc. He is immensely proficient in applying various industrial engineering techniques such as time and motion study and method study appropriately. He plays an active role in taking up and rolling out programme management of specific projects for the government departments. He completed his Ph.D. and Masters from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, in Industrial Engineering & Management and he has over 31 years of work experience, including an industry experience in a Multinational Company. He was the Director of CMD for 13 years. He has also been the principal investigator for more than 150 Evaluation/Impact Assessment/Consultancy assignments, studies in Industrial Engineering for Public Sector Enterprises and Government Departments/ Agencies including National and International ones. He has been part of recruitment and manpower support programmes for over 50 PSUs/ Governmental Agencies/organisations for around 150 categories of posts. Pradeep Kumar M N holds a Doctorate in Management from the University of Kerala. A graduate in Mechanical Engineering and Post Graduate in Industrial Engineering, he has over 30 years of experience in research, consulting and training projects in CMD. He has coordinated/been a core team member in over 30 major research projects covering Monitoring, Evaluation, Impact Assessment and Survey of Schemes, Projects and activities of Government Departments at the Centre and State level. He has coordinated more than 80 consulting assignments in various public enterprises, cooperative enterprises and Government agencies/Departments, in areas like Strategic/Business Plans, Techno-Economic Feasibility, Organization Structure, Manpower Assessment, Productivity Studies, Human Resources Management including Recruitment, Performance Assessment, Career Development/Promotion, Incentive Systems, etc. He has coordinated and taught in several Management Development Programmes organised by CMD. K Padmakumar was the Member Secretary of the Public Sector Restructuring & Internal Audit Board (RIAB), Government of Kerala (currently, the Board for Public Sector Transformation) overseeing performance and transformation of 50 State owned enterprise with a combined annual turnover of 400M USD equivalent. He had served as the Managing Director of 3000 TPD Malabar Cements Ltd) during 2011-16 and was instrumental for making profits consistently. He was the Fund Manager of Cotton Board, Chairman & Managing Director of Kerala Special Refractories Ltd and Special Officer for winding up defunct PSUs. He had also served as the Managing Director of Kerala Small Industries Development Corporation Ltd. Shri. Padmakumar had worked as the Fund Manager of Kerala Industrial Revitalization Fund Board, as the Project Management Specialist for the ADB assisted Tsunami Emergency Assistance Project and as the Associate National Project Coordinator of the UNDP Project (IND 96/004) on Public Sector Reforms. He was a faculty member in the Centre for Management Development (CMD) till 2011 and had served as a Governing Board member of CMD. He is currently the Managing Director of Kerala Rural Women’s Electronics Industrial Co-operative Federation Ltd.

Shri. Padmakumar graduated in Mechanical Engineering in 1986 from the College of Engineering, Trivandrum and took MPhil in Futures Studies from the Department of Computer Science, University of Kerala, with specialisation in modeling of financial systems. At the instance of the Government of Kerala, he had undergone specialized training on Public Sector Reforms in the Commonwealth Secretariat and Civil Services College, United Kingdom and had spoken in various International Conferences on Enterprise Reforms and Corporate Governance. He was a member of the OECD Consultative Group on Corporate Governance that developed the Guidelines for Accountability and Transparency in State-Owned Enterprises.

Mr. Sunil Kumar S. P., working as Senior Faculty Associate at the Centre, holds postgraduate degrees in Management with a specialization in Human Resource Management and Social Work with a focus on Development Social Work Practices. He has over 10 years of experience in social research and management development activities. His expertise lies in designing, coordinating, and leading various monitoring and evaluation assignments, particularly in rural development, drinking water and sanitation, livelihood promotion, and social welfare. Since 2014, he has been an active part of national monitoring initiatives of the Government of India, taking on leadership roles in coordinating multi-district field teams, analysing extensive datasets, and preparing reports. His experience spans across multiple Indian states, bringing a deep understanding of diverse socio-economic contexts. In the domain of planning and visioning, he has worked on projects that prepare long-term strategic plans and master plans for sustainable development and regional growth. He has a strong background in multi-stakeholder coordination, having worked with government departments, agencies, and civic institutions. As a social researcher, he was part of numerous studies to assess the social impact of development interventions, applying both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. These assignments have provided evidence-based insights for decision-making, particularly for the development projects in the state. He is currently working as a Faculty Associate at the Centre for Management Development, having joined in 2014. With a strong background in project management and consultancy, he has been actively involved in a diverse range of projects including recruitment assignments, manpower support and providing project management consultancy support to various government departments. His professional experience covers market feasibility studies, social audits and social impact assessment projects. He has also served as a Junior Consultant at the Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC), where he was part of the Project Management Unit and provided support to various flagship programs. At CMD, he has also played a significant role in coordinating and conducting management development programs and training sessions. Furthermore, he was a key member of the team responsible for preparing the business plan/strategy document for Travancore Titanium Products Ltd and was involved in the study assessing the impact of the PMEGP scheme in Kerala. His experience also includes coordinating entrepreneurship training programs and the preparation and evaluation of tender documents/Expressions of Interest (EoI).

Profile

Jubair K.V., working as a Faculty Associate at the Centre for Management Development (CMD), Thiruvananthapuram. With over 11 years of experience in social research and management development, I have been engaged extensively with diverse stakeholders across multiple social sectors. Since 2016, I have been part of the National Level Monitoring (NLM) team under the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, monitoring the implementation of various rural development schemes across South India. I have also part of the team in the monitoring and evaluation of flagship national programmes of Ministry of Panchayati Raj and Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Government of India in various parts of India. I have been actively involved in conducting Social Impact Assessment (SIA) studies across Kerala and preparing mitigation plans in line with the RFCTLARR Act, 2013. I also working as a key member in to several social, management and capacity building projects implemented for various state government departments, state level public enterprises and institutions.
